With Field Builder you can create all the extra fields you need.

- You may want to indicate whether smoking is allowed, or if children are allowed, or you may indicate if you have access for the disabled
- You want to indicate the dress code

With Field builder addon not only highlight these features but also you can use these fields as filter in the filter and sort addon, so users can find more easily what they are looking for.

This is not all, it also allows you to use these fields on the form event submission and in the import / export of csv.

The entire system connects and allows you to work with each of your custom fields.

Drag and drop those fields to sort it, it will be sorted on events post too.

Change if you want to show this field on events or organizers or places, or on all together

Select the type of field you want to show.

Fill the diffetent options, on multiple choices types (select, multicheckbox, radio)

Your events now will display those fields on backend

 

Edit your template using the drag and drop editor and include those extra fields

1- ADDONS MARKETPLACE

Addons that include other advanced features calendar plugin can be found in our Addons marketplace.

There are two ways to access to Addons marketplace:

1- Accessing it through Events menu in Events > Download Addons

Once downloaded a addon, Chronosly gives you a tool so that it can install (upload).

You can find the addon assistant in Chronosly tab Chronosly > Addon settings. Just click on Select file, choose downloaded addon file and your addon will be automatically uploaded.

2- ADDONS LICENSE KEY - VALIDATION AND ACTIVATION

When you 'purchase' an addon (also templates) from our Addon Marketplace, you are actually purchasing a license to use that item.

To validate and activate 'purchased' addons fill in the License key for updates with the key that you will receive by email.

3- ADDONS UPDATES AND CHRONOSLY UPDATES

Each addon that you install in Chronosly has its own AUTO UPDATE option in Addons settings:

If, after a updating Chronosly to a new version your purchased addons from addons marketplace have any problem, we suggest to charge this:

Notes:

  • Change mysite.com for your domain
  • Remember, set license key correctly for each addon in Chronosly > Addons settings > "Addon title installed"
  •  Refresh cache after force template (Ctrl+F5 or ⌘+R)

 

 

4- ADDONS SETTINGS

Each addon that you install in Chronosly has its own settings that can be set within the specific section for each addon:

Addons and custom templates synergy


Chronosly will keep you informed when your addons need to be updated. It will pop up a warning in the sidebar, in both Chronosly Addons and Addon Settings.

Enter Addons settings > Main to check which addons need being updated.
Click on Required Update button and if you have an up-to-date license, your addon will be updated.

Autoupdates
By default this option is disabled, it's set individually inside each addon settings page. Mark it if you want your Chronosly addons  to be automatically updated when a new version is released.

Important note for Addons automatic updates: In order to allow automatic addons updates, you should have write permission for the plugin folder:

ii) Twitter sharing text customization:

Social Media Share Addon (since v.1.2) includes sharing text customization "Twitter content" option, where you can add wished text each time that your audience shares your  events.

For example, if you wish each share include your twitter account, just add it to "Twitter content" setting options:

Bitly is one of the most used URL  shorteners, and allows you to easily shrink, save and track your links.

SOCIAL MEDIA ADDON TEMPLATES CUSTOMIZATION

When Social Media Share Addon is installed new options are available in Drag & Drop system (1 and 2 blue marks). You can add Share box where you want in to templates.

Also, when you have added Share box in a view (3 blue mark) you can modify many options like icons size in "TEXT" on the Tool bar (4 blue mark). There is one interesting options "VARIABLES" (5 blue mark) that let you customize which Social Media networks you want in each view.

EVENT SUBMISSION FEATURES

Frontend event submission is an addon where users are allowed to submit events themselves from the website for admin approval.

This addon allows to set:

  • Who submits the event: set up whether users need a login for event submission.
  • Who moderates events: set up who are in charge of event moderation, administrators and/or editors may review submitted events and approve or reject them, with no undesired events ever reaching the public view. Although you can allow user submitted events to be published immediately.

 

 

FRONTEND EVENT SUBMISSION FORM

Authorised users can send Events to admin following this form (event form can be configured in Addons settings, described in detail later in this post):

  • Event TITLE and DATE are always required

 

If enabled, users can sent events with Featured images, associated with categories, organizers and places, and much more described in next section SET UP.

SET UP OPTIONS

Options for Frontend Event Submission Addon are divided in 2 section:

  1. Form settings
  2. Mail settings

 

1. Form Settings

This settings allows to configure fields to show on form

As said before, event TITLE and DATE are ALWAIS REQUIRED!

 

-Template: choose which template from Chronosly will be used on form

-Who can send events? Choose one of these options

  • No one: disables Frontend Event Submission
  • Registered only
  • All, name and mail required: Everybody can send events

 

- Default author id: id for granting full event permission when creating events from anonymous user. (from F.E.Submission addon v.1.3)

WordPress don't allow to delete events posted from anonymous authors. This option solve this problem assigning  automatically author id to anonymous users when they submit events.

 

- Really Simple CAPTCHA: captcha compatibility to avoid spam Really Simple Capcha plugin is need for this feature.  (from F.E.Submission addon v.1.3)

-Event description
-Event image: allow users add a Featured image into the event

- 12 hours time format (from Chronosly update v.2.0)

-Event category

  • Hidde: disables user option to add categories to events
  • Show categories already created
  • Show categories and allow to create a new one

 

-Event organizer

  • Hidde: disables user option to add organizers to events
  • Show orgzanizers already created
  • Show organizers and allow to create a new one

Filter and Sort are some of the most commonly used features to help you, they allow you to show your content based on given set of criteria.

This addon allows you to filter and sort in all these sections:

 

FILTER BY EVENTS, ORGANIZERS, PLACES AND CATEGORIES PARAMETERS

To focus on a specific set of your content, you can filter a range of events, organizers, places or categories. Filtering allows you to display only content that meets certain criteria, and hides content that you do not want displayed.

FILTERS available (there are many options to set up in settings, we only listed filters by default, check here ALL FILTERS):

  • Event: by Name, Date, Price and Author
  • Category: by categories
  • Organizer: by organizers
  • Place: by Place Name, State, Country, City Zip code, distance from user.

 

MULTIPLE FILTER: you can check multiple criteria to show content that more fits to your needs.

 

 

SORT BY EVENTS, ORGANIZERS, PLACES AND CATEGORIES PARAMETERS

Helps your clients, users or audience quickly visualize, organize and find your content better, and ultimately make more useful for them. Content can be sorted alphabetically, numerically, and in many other ways.

Event list has the following options and features.

 

- Week/Month/Year navigation

This feature was created following several clients' suggestions and show a week, month or year navigation, based on Chronosly event list settings (Main event list display), to navigate previous or next.

  • Event Name

Calendars views (week, month and year) have the following filters

FILTER AND SORT ADDON SHORTCODES

Shortcodes are available for this addon:

There are mainly three parameters that can be within this shortcode:

  • Filter: shows filter and sort bar for Chronosly types (event, organizers, places, categories and calendar).
  • Navigation: show navigation bar where users can have quick access to next /previous content, depending on which format Main event list is set up in Chronosly settings (year, month or week)
  • Pagination: only necessary if there is a large amount of content. Shows content splitted into different pages when there is too much content to show in a single page.

Filter: this paremeter must be included in shortcode if you want Filter and Sort addon. Shows filter and sort bar for Chronosly types (event, organizers, places, categories and calendar).

Navigation: this parameter show navigation bar where users can have quick access to next /previous content, depending on which format Main event list is set up in Chronosly settings (year, month or week)

1- BASIC OPTIONS (EXPORT AND IMPORT)

This addon allows you to Import or export to ICS or CSV files

EXPORT: click on wished file format Export button and download will start immediately.

2- BACK UP - SAVE EVENTS AND DATA

Do you need to create a backup copy of your current Chronosly data (events, organizers and places)?

That's really easy, just click on wished data (events, organizers or places) EXPORT button and a backup copy will be immediately downloaded.

3- RESTORE PREVIOUS IMPORT VERSION

RESTORE options appear only when a file has been imported to Chronosly.

It only allows you to restore PREVIOUS import. So, it is highly recommended to check if all parameters have been correctly imported every time a file is uploaded.

4- HOW TO CREATE CSV BASE FILE FOR IMPORT

To create a CSV base file, i.g. import events, organizers or places in bulk we recommend:

  1. Create an event, organizer or place that contains all parameters that should have imported data.
  2. Export events, organizers or places to CSV file.
  3. Work on exported CSV file including your new data keeping CSV original formats*.
  4. Import CSV file to Chronosly.

 

*Notes for CSV base :

- There is no existing standardised CSV file because each project could have its own parameters.

- Date formats are yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm and mm-dd-yyyy hh:mm

- Use TAB to separate parameters. Text delimiter is ".  (By default in CSV export).

- Don't use line break on fields, use <br/> instead to preserve csv row

 

- Use double pipe || to separate multiple elements for categories, organizers and places (i.g "Org1||Org2||Org3").

Image parameter is defined as an URL, it will be automatically downloaded, added to your site and included to your event/s.

- Repeat every is defined by a number and parameter: day, week, month, year (always in singular), i.g "1 day", "5 week", "2 month", "1 year".

Repeat end could be two types of parameters, number or date:

Number: defines number of times repeated.

Date: defines date Y-m-d when repeats end (i.g 2015-01-30).

 - Is repeated is not used at the moment, but must be 0.

- Tikets is not used at the moment, better leave blank.

To import events from Facebook follow these 7 easy steps:

1- Go to your Facebook upcoming events (need to be logged in)

2- Right click "Copy link address...". This link address should be something like:

webcal://www.facebook.com/ical/u.php?uid=10000192982&key=AQAYC_goq-dLSo

3- Paste copied link address to your browser and Delete "webcal://" from pasted link address: After deleting "webcal://" it should be something like:

6- Go to Chronosly Import & Export Addon and select downloaded ICS file from Facebook in "Import events from ics" option.

Note: Facebook events include organizer, who is the same user that created the event. Take into account, because that after importing to Chronosly, events from Facebook will be linked to an organizer. Remember to change organizer or delete afterwards if needed.

IMPORT TO FACEBOOK: Facebook isn't a calendar management application so there's no native method of importing events. Till Facebook doesn’t include an API, Chronosly should develop an app for Facebook, unfortunately this is not our mission. At the moment we are focused on WordPress market.

To import events from Google Calendar follow these 7 easy steps:

1- Go to your Google calendar account (need to be logged in)

7- FRONTEND EXPORT

Since Import and Export v.1.8, this addon include Frontend export, an useful feature that helps you to include a link (URL) into your site. This link allow your web users to export ALL your event to a .ics file in just one click.

How to set FRONTEND EXPORT for all events?

You just need to insert source code below within a link.

INTRO: RECURRING EVENTS & TICKETING ADDON

Any Chronosly version (FULL or LITE) includes basic options for ticketing and recurring events.

We’ve developed our Ticketing and Recurring events addon to enhance default options for:

  • Recurring events that repeat regularly, including complex patterns, and accommodate scenarios like:
    • An event that repeats monthly on every last Sunday
    • An event that repeats every two weeks on Monday and Thursday.

 

  • Ticketing options are enhanced to allow many different ticket behaviors, such as: sales, promotion, and marketing campaign prices, and sold out events, making it possible to use with the same event but for different recurring times (seen later under Chronosly Seasons).

 

 

In summary, this new addon makes it even easier to create and manage your events by just dragging and dropping your events.

This addons best improvement feature is that it manages multiple repeats of the same event, on the same day and even at the same hour. This is quite useful for clients who manage theater performances, classes etc…

 

 

 

1. CHRONOSLY SEASONS

1.1 WHAT ARE SEASONS? (AND WHY?)

Chronosly has introduced "SEASONS", a concept defined as:

"A date and time that includes it's recurring events and has the same characteristics within that event."

 

SEASON: A date and time that includes it's recurring events and has the same characteristics within that event

 

NOTE: Season set up is important because, basically, it creates the same ticketing behavior specially for promotions and sales.

1.2 HOW TO CREATE SEASONS

It’s really simple! The new date picker makes it easy by just selecting a date on the calendar. Season builder will appear as soon as you click on a date. To set a season:

 

  1. Select a day
  2. Set hour FROM and TO (hh mm format or leave blank for All day event)
  3. Click on UPDATE button

When you create an All day event, the event shows as a full 24-hour event lasting from midnight to midnight (no hours will be shown in frontend)

OTHER USEFUL SEASONS' TOOLS

Recurring events addon include two useful tools within date picker:

1. SHORTCUT TO YOUR EVENTS

This option allow you to find out your events on the date picker on your recurring date period (event first date).

 

2. ERASE ALL SEASONS BUTTON

Use it as SOS button! If you have any trouble with your seasons from recurrent events, just delete them.

NOTE: This action will only Delete seasons within the event you are currently setting. It won't delete other seasons from your event list.

2. RECURRING EVENTS

2.1 WHICH RECURRING EVENTS ARE SUPPORTED?

All recurring options without any restriction are supported. This addon will allow you to set any pattern. It’s very easy to use. You simply create seasons within each event and then you will be able to create complex repeating combinations within that same event.

For example you will be able to create an event that repeats every 2 weeks on Monday and also the last Friday of the month.

Basic recurring events can be set by creating a "season" (see previous point) and selecting the "Repeats" tab. As always you can create day, week, month and yearly recurring events.

2.2 HOW TO CREATE COMPLEX RECURRING EVENTS

A very abstract pattern, such as an event taking place on Monday and Tuesday of this week, where a gap occurs until Friday 5 weeks from now, can be difficult to set up.

 

To set a complex recurring event:

  1. Select a date
  2. Create a season
  3. Select "Every month" within Repeats tab
  4. Click on "Complex Repeats" button
  5. Select when your recurrent event will occur:
    • First, second, third, fourth, fifth or last week of month
    • Select the week days that your event will occur

2.3 EXTEND TO ANOTHER RECURRING EVENT

Every time that you modify your original event or recurring event you can choose between only applying modifications to that event, that event and future ones or all events (current event, past and futures ones)

2.4 DRAG AND DROP YOUR EVENTS OR RECURRING EVENTS

New date-time picker will allow you to move your events (also recurring) from one day to another. This is the main reason why this addon doesn’t limit your recurring events.

 

Just drag and drop from one date to your newly desired one, and choose if you want the changes applied to your current event, current and future events or current, past and future events.

2.5 CLICK AND DRAG TO CREATE MULTIPLE-DAY EVENTS

Creating multiple-day events is easier than ever! Simply create your season and after setting it, move the mouse over your event in date picker until you see the pointer change to an arrow.

2.6 HOW TO CUSTOMISE "SEASONS" NAMING

Chronosly, as a 100% customisable plugin, takes this into account. So, if you want to change "Seasons" from your frontend, just go into:

3. TICKETING OPTIONS

Basically, this addon uses the same ticket set up as Chronosly by default. You can define as many tickets as you want. Defining tickets will allow you to set different ticketing options within each event or recurrence.

Title: helps you to differentiate between many different types of tickets.

Price: your tickets price

Sale price: your tickets with discounts

Capacity: this option is for admin internal use, so it won't be used for booking management or displayed on templates.

Link: set your booking, purchasing platform e.g. Eventbrite, Ticketmaster

Description: Brief and short to help you remember that ticket or to help your staff recognize it. This information is for admin/ internal use, so it won't be displayed on templates.

Sold out: enable this option to display sold out tickets

Sale: enable this option to display sale price of your tickets

 

Remember, tickets set up within "Tickets" section will be used by "default". You can set different ticket options and availability in each ticket individually.

Instead of your "default", you can set different ticket options and availability in each ticket individually.

 

  1. Select an event or recurring event date from date-time picker.
  2. Go to "Ticket" tab
  3. All your "default" tickets will be displayed
  4. Choose tickets and availability for that event

4. TICKETING AND RECURRING EVENT ADDON ON TEMPLATES

Current addon acquisition extends the ability of your events to operate individually by themselves on templates.

 

This means that when you create an event and you set different dates or some repeats, even in same day, that event will be displayed on template just once and within all available "seasons" and recurrences will be shown.

 

As you can see in example below, your single page event, will display all your seasons by day and year. Within each season you can see different tickets (created within tickets builder and assigned to each season through season manager).

4.1 DISPLAY EVENTS SEPARATELY OPTION

Since Chronosly v.2.2.6, Recurring and Ticketing addon include a new option to enable display events separately.

4.2 CUSTOM YOUR TICKETING OPTIONS

Each ticket will automatically add "BUY" button if you set an URL in your tickets section.

By default this "BUY" button will be displayed with same color that event Category (default category color if non assigned).

SALE PRICE

Customise the color for all tickets when sale is checked, increasing visibility of discounted tickets. Sale Price is available for all Chronosly templates.

By default, Sale price uses same "Default category" color set in Chronosly settings.
