EVENT CATEGORIES SETTINGS

Categories are useful for your audience to be easy to find your events lately.
Chronosly has unlimited categories, so you can create as much categories as you need within events, e.g. jazz, electronic, rock, or anything you consider it'll be relevant for them.

Set up Categories is highly recomended, if not, views with categories involved can’t be shown. There are 2 different categories views:

- General View: how the category is displayed in the list of categories.

- Inner page view: it is the inner view of your category, a single page on the place, where all the information is shown.

 

HOW TO SET EVENT CATEGORIES

There are two ways to create categories:

1 - In Events > Add new event when you are adding a new event or within Events> Event when editing an event already created.

By default, if you have not changed the display options, find Organizers on the right sidebar.

2 - Within Events> Event Categories in the left sidebar.

Unlike point 1, you can add a description and change the slug.

Name / Title is mandatory whenever you create a new category. Leave the fields in blank and will not appear.

Categories Notes: You need to enter Edit each of the categories already created to modify the following:

- Category color: using the custom Color chooser, you can customize each category.

- Fatured category: give more prominence to an specific category. Featuring categories means making a single or various categories look different from normal ones. Categories feature you are more likely to Attract the attention of visitors calendar. Learn how to add featured elements.

Before customizing categories, make sure your choosen template is set to display catgories colors or featured customizations.

Extra information about TAGS

Tags provide a useful way to group related events together and to quickly tell audience what a event is about. Tags also make it easier for people to find your content. Tags are similar to, but more specific than, categories. The use of tags is completely optional.

 

There are two ways to create tags:

1 - In Events > Add new event when you are adding a new event or within Events> Event  when editing an event already created.

By default, if you have not changed the display options, find Tags on the right sidebar.

You can add tags one at a time by clicking the Add button or hitting the Enter/Return key on your keyboard after typing each tag. Or you can add multiple tags at a time by separating them with a comma as you type.

To remove a tag from the event, click the small X icon next to the tag.
